Catching Things
It’s rare that I brag about something I said, but I think that this time it’s funny enough to share. Yesterday, Dan was talking about how the photos/video of John Kerry trying to catch a football was hilarious and about how bad Kerry looked. I said, “Do you know what’s funnier than that? Watching Bush try to catch Bin Laden.” Laughter and rebuttals ensued.

Yeah, except that Kerry’s inability to catch a football doesn’t endanger me personally. I don’t think that he’s going to come down to the park for a little flag football any time soon.
(Yay for allowing comments!)

Exactly! I never understood why the media (and bloggers) made such a big deal of it. Although the left is just as guilty on these issues; I can still remember laughing at the “Pretzel Incident” or when Bush fell off the Segway.
I’d love to leave comments open on all of my posts, but even with spam filters in place, I get slammed with spam comments and trackback spam from time to time. WordPress 1.5 has better built-in controls, so I’ve been leaving more posts open. Hopefully, moderating each new commenter will keep the site free of pr0n, pills, and other junk.

I spend way too much time cleaning out comment spam, so I sympathise. I really enjoy getting comments, though, so having as low a barrier to entry as I can manage is important to me.
